When I realised I wanted another boy, I knew his name would be Fredie as it is an anagram of Deifer.
Fredie was bred by Carolyn Mabey of the Oakprides Affix, using the Fernwood lines of Mike & Maureen Smith. A very successful combination.
When I got Fredie I decided I would have a bash at showing. Well he has done so well and we are extremely proud of him.
We are enjoying showing and have made some excellent friends. People are always willing to help and always there to congratulate or comiserate. We hope to continue showing our dogs.
In this year (2006) Fredie has gained his Junior Warrant and his Show Certificate of Merit.
He now has his Stud Book Number and Life Time Qualification To Crufts.
We feel this is an excellent achievment for a 2 year old dog, with a novice handler.
Showing is not the be all and end all of Fredies life. He has also gained his Good Citizen Gold award and is training to be a PAT dog. He is the proud father of a litter of pups.
In December 2005 Fredie was character tested by the "Rottweiler Club " He passed "Excellent"
What Fredie enjoys most are his cuddles off Mommy. He loves nothing more than being with his Mom and Dad.
He also enjoys his holidays to the seaside, camping out, going for walks at our local nature reserve and going to his Hydrotheraphy sessions. He loves playing with Madison, Faith and the Cats. Fredie is a "Blood Donor" at his vets practice as they were struggling to find large enough dogs with good enough character.
Fredie is available for stud to suitable, health screened

LAMENT OF A STUD DOG
My job is making puppies
And I get two tries at that,
They pat me on the head and say “Good Boy”
And that is that.
It’s half my job to give ‘em
Teeth and toplines, fronts and other
Remember, it’s only half my job….
They also have a mother.
It’s not my job to carry pups
And make ‘em grow and nurse ‘em,
And feed and clean and make ‘em strong
That’s for “mother” and a person.
It’s not my job to wean
And feed calcium and food,
And stack and gate and housebreak
And make ‘em a “showing” brood.
It’s not my job to plan the breeding
And learn what produces well,
To study pedigrees, learn what’s there
And pick out those to sell.
It’s not my job to guarantee champs,
The breeder picks the pair,
To mate and whelp and feed and show
And hope that the champ is there.
It’s not my job to be on hand
When wins are given out.
The breeder, owner, dam and friends
Take credit with a shout.
It’s not my job to deliver a winner,
It’s only genes I sell.
But let the puppies turn out bad,
And guess who catches HELL!
